Product Description
Sprocket 10B-3 z=30, with hub
The sprocket 10B-3 shown is a triplex (three-strand) sprocket with 30 teeth, made with a hub, for chain with a pitch of 5/8" / 15.88 mm. The sprocket complies with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 and is made of C45E steel (EN 10083-1); the teeth are not hardened, which lowers the cost of the sprocket and makes it easier to machine (e.g. deep boring of the hub) throughout the entire volume of the material.

Frequently asked questions
Can I replace a simplex sprocket with a duplex one without changing the other drive components?
No - switching to a duplex chain and sprocket requires replacing the entire set (the sprockets on both sides of the drive and the chain) with a duplex version of the same pitch, because the rim spacing and chain width differ from those of the simplex version.
How can you tell whether a sprocket is still fit for further service or already due for replacement?
It is worth checking the tooth profile for visible chipping or the characteristic "hooked" shape, and also measuring the pitch circle diameter and comparing it with the catalogue dimension of a new sprocket. If the difference is visually noticeable or the chain starts to "jump", the sprocket is due for replacement.
What should be used to preserve sprockets before a longer break in operation?
After cleaning with a brush and a technical cleaner, apply preservative grease or a thick, moisture-displacing spray oil to the entire surface of the sprocket. This will protect the metal against rust deposits during the break while it is stored in the hall.
What does the pitch of a sprocket mean and how can it be checked?
The pitch of a sprocket corresponds to the chain pitch - it is the theoretical distance between the centres of adjacent teeth on the pitch circle. The easiest way to check it is to place a section of matching chain on the sprocket - it should sit perfectly, without tension.
Where is this product used?
This type of sprocket is used in drives of agricultural and industrial machinery, including screw and bucket conveyors, feed conveyors, packaging machines and internal transport systems.
