Product Description
Sprocket 10B-1 z=32, hardened hub
The sprocket 10B-1 shown is a simplex sprocket with 32 teeth, made with a hardened hub, for chain with a pitch of 5/8" / 15.875 mm. Compliance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 guarantees full interchangeability with chain of the same pitch; C45E steel (EN 10083-1) and induction hardening of the teeth (45-55 HRC) provide high wear resistance while keeping the hub machinable.

Frequently asked questions
In what cases are multi-strand sprockets used?
They are used to drive multi-strand chains in heavily loaded machines where there is no room for a wider sprocket with a larger pitch. Several strands distribute the load evenly, preventing premature chain breakage.
What forces act on the key in a sprocket and how can it be prevented from shearing?
The key transmits the entire shearing torque between the shaft and the sprocket. Make sure it is made of suitable quenched and tempered steel, has an accurate fit in the keyway and that the machine is not subjected to extreme jerks without an overload clutch.
When is it worth using a clamping bush (Taper Bush) for a sprocket?
Wherever fast assembly matters. A clamping bush eliminates the need for laborious boring of the hub and cutting of a keyway - you insert the sprocket, tighten the screws and the machine is back in operation within minutes.
What causes premature wear of the side faces of the teeth?
This is most often the result of misalignment of the sprockets on the shafts (so-called lateral runout of the drive). The chain does not run straight, and its inner plates catch on the sides of the teeth, wearing them down to bare metal. The system must be realigned immediately.
Where is this product used?
10B-1 sprockets operate in the drives of construction machinery, goods lifts, aggregate conveyors and woodworking machines - wherever tooth durability under heavy load matters.
