Product Description
Sprocket 08B-3 z=28, with hub
The sprocket 08B-3 shown is a triplex (three-strand) sprocket with 28 teeth, made with a hub, for chain with a pitch of 1/2" / 12.7 mm. Manufactured in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 from C45E structural steel (EN 10083-1), without tooth hardening - as a Polish manufacturer, Ozdowski supplies an economical version that is fully dimensionally interchangeable with the hardened variant of the same pitch.

Frequently asked questions
What does uneven, one-sided wear of the sprocket teeth indicate?
This usually indicates misalignment between the driving and driven sprockets or that the chain is skewed relative to the sprocket. It is worth checking the alignment of both sprockets and the condition of the shaft bearings - over time, one-sided wear causes the chain to jump off the tooth.
How do I check the radial and axial runout of a sprocket after mounting it on the shaft?
A dial indicator on a magnetic stand is used for the measurement. Place the tip against the circumference of the sprocket or its side face, rotate the shaft and check the deviations. Excessive runout indicates faulty installation or a damaged shaft.
How long can a sprocket be kept in storage without losing its properties?
A properly preserved sprocket (dried, coated with grease or anti-corrosion oil, stored in a dry room) can be kept in storage for many years without any loss of its mechanical parameters. The only risk is surface corrosion due to improper storage - it does not affect the tooth geometry, but it is advisable to clean the sprocket and preserve it again before installation.
When is it worth using a clamping bush (Taper Bush) for a sprocket?
Wherever fast assembly matters. A clamping bush eliminates the need for laborious boring of the hub and cutting of a keyway - you insert the sprocket, tighten the screws and the machine is back in operation within minutes.
Where is this product used?
Typical applications of the 08B-3 sprocket: drives for pumps, mixers and industrial fans, as well as control systems for industrial gates and roller shutters, where resistance to continuous operation is required.
