Product Description
Sprocket 083-1/084-1 (1/2") z=16 with bearing, bore 16 mm, C45 steel is designed for 083-1/084-1 roller chain (European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606), single-strand (simplex), with a pitch of 12.7 mm (1/2"). It has 16 teeth and is made of C45 steel.
The sprocket runs on a 203 KRR ball bearing with a 16 mm bore, shielded on both sides and requiring no lubrication. The inner ring of the bearing is extended (18.3 mm compared with 12 mm for the outer ring), which makes mounting on a pin or bolt easier. The sprocket is ready to install, and the bearing operates at temperatures from -20°C to +120°C.

Frequently asked questions
Which chain does the 083-1/084-1 z=16 sprocket with bearing fit?
083-1/084-1 roller chain to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 12.7 mm. A simplex sprocket requires a single-strand (simplex) chain.
How do I mount a sprocket with bearing?
The sprocket is placed on a pin or bolt with a diameter of 16 mm that passes through the bearing bore, and is fixed to the machine frame or tensioner arm. The inner ring of the bearing is clamped, while the sprocket rotates freely with the chain. The sprocket must be exactly in line with the chain.
Does the bearing need lubrication?
No. The ball bearing is shielded on both sides and maintenance-free - it does not need lubrication throughout its service life. It is enough to check periodically that the sprocket turns easily and without play.
What is the difference between a sprocket with bearing and a standard sprocket?
A standard sprocket is mounted on a shaft and transmits drive. A sprocket with bearing rotates freely on a stationary pin, so it does not transmit torque - it is used to tension, support and redirect the chain.
What is the difference between the 083-1/084-1 sprocket and the 08B-1 sprocket if they have the same pitch?
Both sprockets have a pitch of 12.7 mm (1/2"), but they are designed for different chains. The 083-1/084-1 chain has an inner width of 4.88 mm and a roller diameter of 7.75 mm, while the 08B-1 chain has an inner width of 7.75 mm and a roller diameter of 8.51 mm. That is why the 083-1/084-1 sprocket has narrower teeth (4.5 mm instead of 7.2 mm) and should not be used with 08B-1 chain, nor should these series be interchanged.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
