Product Description
Sprocket 06B-3 z=17 for Taper-Lock bush 1008 fits 06B-3 roller chain (European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606), triple-strand (triplex), with a pitch of 9.525 mm (3/8"). It has 17 teeth and is made of C45 steel.
The sprocket has a seat for a Taper-Lock 1008 clamping bush, so it can be mounted on the shaft without boring the hole or cutting a keyway in the sprocket - simply choose a 1008 bush with a bore that matches the shaft. The total width of the sprocket is 25.6 mm. The bush is not included - the 1008 bush can be purchased separately from our range.

Applications
It works in light chain transmissions where quick mounting and dismounting matter. The triple-strand version is chosen for very heavily loaded drives where there is no room for a chain with a larger pitch.
Frequently asked questions
Which chain does this sprocket fit?
06B-3 roller chain to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 9.525 mm. A triplex sprocket requires a triple-strand (triplex) chain.
Does it fit ASA 35 chain?
No. ASA 35 chain (American standard) has the same pitch, but a different roller diameter (5.08 mm instead of 6.35 mm) and a different inner width (4.77 mm instead of 5.72 mm). The 06B sprocket is designed for European-standard chain, so the two systems should not be mixed.
How does the number of teeth affect the drive ratio?
The ratio is the number of teeth of the driven wheel divided by the number of teeth of the driving wheel. If this sprocket drives a wheel with twice as many teeth, the driven shaft turns twice as slowly but with roughly twice the torque.
How should sprockets be aligned during installation?
The driving and driven sprockets must lie in one plane. Alignment can be checked with a long steel straightedge placed against the sides of both wheels or with a laser alignment tool. Even a small misalignment wears the sides of the teeth and speeds up chain wear.
When does a sprocket need replacing?
When the teeth start to look like pointed shark fins or are clearly bent to one side. Running on such a profile quickly destroys even a new chain, so a worn sprocket must be replaced. Thanks to the Taper-Lock bush, replacement is quick.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
