Product Description
V-belt pulley SPB 400/10, 10 grooves, for Taper-Lock 4040, cast iron is a pulley for narrow SPB V-belts: datum diameter 400 mm, outside diameter 407 mm, 10 grooves. It is made of EN-GJL-200 grey cast iron, phosphated and statically balanced for a peripheral speed of up to 35 m/s.
The pulley has a seat for a Taper-Lock 4040 clamping bush (bush sold separately) - the bush bore is chosen to suit the shaft, up to 100 mm, without boring the pulley. The face width is 196 mm with a groove pitch of 19 mm.

Frequently asked questions
Which V-belt pulley has the SPB profile, a datum diameter of 400 mm and 10 grooves?
This is the v-belt pulley SPB 400/10, 10 grooves, for Taper-Lock 4040, cast iron. The outside diameter is 407 mm and the face width 196 mm.
Which V-belt fits this pulley?
A narrow SPB V-belt (16.3 × 13 mm) to ISO 4184 / DIN 7753. Classical B belts (17 mm) to DIN 2215 also run in SPB grooves, but transmit less power. The number of belts equals the number of grooves (10).
Which Taper-Lock bush do I need for this pulley?
A Taper-Lock 4040 bush. The bush is bought separately and its bore is chosen to match the shaft diameter - up to 100 mm for this pulley. The bush clamps onto the shaft when the screws are tightened, so the pulley does not need to be bored and removal is easy.
How do I calculate the belt speed on this pulley?
Belt speed v = π × dp × n / 60 000, where dp is the datum diameter in mm and n is the speed in rpm. On this pulley at 1450 rpm the belt runs at approx. 30.4 m/s. The pulley is statically balanced up to 35 m/s.
How do I calculate the ratio of a drive with this pulley?
The ratio is the datum diameter of the driven pulley divided by that of the driving pulley, e.g. 400 / 200 = 2. Because of the slight slip of the V-belt, the actual speed is approx. 1-2% lower.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this pulley - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may differ between warehouses.
