Product Description
V-belt pulley SPB 140/6, 6 grooves, cast iron, pilot bore works with narrow SPB V-belts (16.3 × 13 mm). The datum diameter of the pulley is 140 mm and the number of grooves is 6. It is made of EN-GJL-200 grey cast iron, phosphated and statically balanced for a peripheral speed of up to 35 m/s.
The pulley has a hub with a pilot bore Ø20 mm, which is bored out to the shaft size and completed with a keyway. The face width is 120 mm with a groove pitch of 19 mm.

Frequently asked questions
Which V-belt pulley has the SPB profile, a datum diameter of 140 mm and 6 grooves?
This is the v-belt pulley SPB 140/6, 6 grooves, cast iron, pilot bore. The outside diameter is 147 mm and the face width 120 mm.
Which V-belt fits this pulley?
A narrow SPB V-belt (16.3 × 13 mm) to ISO 4184 / DIN 7753. Classical B belts (17 mm) to DIN 2215 also run in SPB grooves, but transmit less power. The number of belts equals the number of grooves (6).
How do I prepare the bore for the shaft?
The pilot bore Ø20 mm is bored out on a lathe to the shaft size (usually to tolerance H7) and a keyway is cut to DIN 6885. The pulley is secured axially with a set screw or a retaining ring. After machining the hub must keep a sufficient wall thickness.
How do I calculate the belt speed on this pulley?
Belt speed v = π × dp × n / 60 000, where dp is the datum diameter in mm and n is the speed in rpm. On this pulley at 1450 rpm the belt runs at approx. 10.6 m/s. The pulley is statically balanced up to 35 m/s.
How do I calculate the ratio of a drive with this pulley?
The ratio is the datum diameter of the driven pulley divided by that of the driving pulley, e.g. 140 / 280 = 0.5. Because of the slight slip of the V-belt, the actual speed is approx. 1-2% lower.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this pulley - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may differ between warehouses.
