Frequently asked questions
Which V-belt pulley has the SPB profile, a datum diameter of 1250 mm and 5 grooves?
This is the v-belt pulley SPB 1250/5, 5 grooves, for Taper-Lock 4545, cast iron. The outside diameter is 1257 mm and the face width 101 mm.
Which V-belt fits this pulley?
A narrow SPB V-belt (16.3 × 13 mm) to ISO 4184 / DIN 7753. Classical B belts (17 mm) to DIN 2215 also run in SPB grooves, but transmit less power. The number of belts equals the number of grooves (5).
Which Taper-Lock bush do I need for this pulley?
A Taper-Lock 4545 bush. The bush is bought separately and its bore is chosen to match the shaft diameter - up to 110 mm for this pulley. The bush clamps onto the shaft when the screws are tightened, so the pulley does not need to be bored and removal is easy.
How do I calculate the belt speed on this pulley?
Belt speed v = π × dp × n / 60 000, where dp is the datum diameter in mm and n is the speed in rpm. On this pulley at 1450 rpm the belt runs at approx. 94.9 m/s. The pulley is statically balanced up to 35 m/s.
How do I calculate the ratio of a drive with this pulley?
The ratio is the datum diameter of the driven pulley divided by that of the driving pulley, e.g. 1250 / 625 = 2. Because of the slight slip of the V-belt, the actual speed is approx. 1-2% lower.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this pulley - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may differ between warehouses.
