Product Description
Trapezoidal screw 18x4 right-hand C45 cut length 0,5m
A 500 mm cut length goes straight to assembly - without waiting for cutting and without the risk of measuring errors on short strokes. Made of carbon steel C45 (1.0503), compliant with DIN 103 / ISO 2901-2904, right-hand thread Tr 18x4.
Works with a trapezoidal nut with the same thread (size, pitch and hand must be identical). Used in: lifting jacks, presses and vices working under higher loads - the higher surface hardness of C45 steel (approx. 250 HB, compared with approx. 160-180 HB for C15E) copes better with friction and working pressure.

Frequently asked questions
Which nut fits this cut length?
A trapezoidal nut Tr 18x4 with the same thread hand (right-hand) - size and pitch must be identical, otherwise the mechanism will jam.
How does this ready cut length differ from the screw sold by the metre?
This product has a fixed, ready length of 500 mm - it requires no cutting and no surcharge for the service. You will also find the screw Tr 18x4 as a by-the-metre version for individual cutting.
What is the difference between a KUE screw (C45) and a KEQ screw (C15)?
Both are made of precision-rolled carbon steel, but KUE (steel C45) has a higher surface hardness (approx. 250 HB) than KEQ (steel C15E, approx. 160-180 HB) - it copes better with higher loads and friction at the same accuracy class.
Is there backlash in a trapezoidal screw drive?
Yes - a standard trapezoidal nut has some backlash resulting from the manufacturing tolerance of the thread. If the mechanism requires zero backlash (e.g. for precise positioning in CNC machine tools), it is worth using a backlash-reducing (anti-backlash) nut that works with this screw.
