Product Description
Timing belt pulley PolyChain GT PC 8M 21 z=56 for Taper-Lock bush 2012 - for HTD 8M / PolyChain GT belts with a pitch of 8 mm (HTD). Made of C45 steel with a profile optimised for Gates PolyChain GT polyurethane belts.
The Taper-Lock system eliminates the need to bore out the hub. The bush slides into the tapered seat of the pulley and, after the screws are tightened to a torque of approx. 50 Nm, it clamps onto the shaft without a press or special tools. Removal is just as simple - one screw inserted into the removal hole pushes the bush out without risk of damaging the shaft.
The pulley performs well wherever precise motion synchronisation is required: industrial drives, heavy machinery, production lines.
When ordering, please check the lead time - it is shown directly next to the product's stock level.

FAQ
Can I use an HTD 8M belt on a PolyChain GT pulley?
We do not recommend it. The tooth profile of a PolyChain pulley differs from that of a conventional HTD pulley - the belt will fit on the pulley but will not sit optimally in the teeth, which will shorten its service life and may lead to tooth skipping under load.
How do I mount the pulley on a Taper-Lock bush?
The bush is inserted into the tapered seat of the pulley, placed on the shaft and the screws are tightened to a torque of approx. 50 Nm. The pulley is ready in a few minutes, without a press or special tools.
How do I choose the Taper-Lock bush number?
The bush number (2012) is assigned to the pulley and determines the size of the seat. You only choose the bore diameter of the bush to suit your shaft. The maximum bore for this pulley is 111 mm.
How do I remove a pulley with a Taper-Lock bush?
Unscrew the mounting screws and screw one of them into the removal hole in the bush - it acts as a puller and pushes the bush out of the seat without damaging the shaft, without a press or hammer.
