Product Description
Timing belt pulley PolyChain GT PC 14M 90 z=38 Steel - for HTD 14M / PolyChain GT belts with a pitch of 14 mm (HTD). Made of C45 steel with a profile optimised for Gates PolyChain GT polyurethane belts.
The pilot bore allows the pulley to be bored precisely to the shaft size and the fit required by the machine, to H7 tolerance. The keyway is cut on a slotting machine according to DIN 6885.
Used in machines requiring accurate motion transmission: heavy industrial drives, presses, agricultural and construction machinery.
When ordering, please check the lead time - it is shown directly next to the product's stock level.

FAQ
How do you align pulleys correctly?
The grooves of both pulleys must lie in one plane. Check this with a straightedge or a laser alignment tool. Even a slight lateral misalignment causes rapid wear of the belt's side edges.
How do you choose a pulley for a toothed belt?
The key is matching the series (14M = 14 mm pitch (HTD)) and the belt width (90 mm). The drive ratio is calculated by dividing the number of teeth of the driven pulley by the number of teeth of the driving pulley.
How can you recognise a worn pulley groove?
If the bottom of the groove is shiny, the belt has bottomed out and no longer wedges against the flanks - the pulley needs replacing. Profile gauges are used for checking.
How does excessive belt tension affect the bearings?
Excessive radial force puts high loads on the bearings, leading to overheating and premature failure. The correct tension is specified by the belt manufacturer.
