Product Description
Timing belt pulley PolyChain GT PC 14M 20 z=56 for Taper-Lock bush 3020 - for HTD 14M / PolyChain GT belts with a pitch of 14 mm (HTD). Made of C45 steel with a profile optimised for Gates PolyChain GT polyurethane belts.
The Taper-Lock system eliminates the need to bore out the hub. The bush slides into the tapered seat of the pulley and, after the screws are tightened to a torque of approx. 80 Nm, it clamps onto the shaft without a press or special tools. Removal is just as simple - one screw inserted into the removal hole pushes the bush out without risk of damaging the shaft.
Typical applications: heavy industrial drives, presses, agricultural and construction machinery.

FAQ
How do I remove a pulley with a Taper-Lock bush?
Unscrew the mounting screws and screw one of them into the removal hole in the bush - it acts as a puller and pushes the bush out of the seat without damaging the shaft, without a press or hammer.
What shaft tolerance do you recommend?
The recommended shaft tolerance is h9 or h11. The shaft should be smooth and clean - rust or burrs will hinder proper clamping and may cause the pulley to slip under load.
How do you choose a pulley for a toothed belt?
The key is matching the series (14M = 14 mm pitch (HTD)) and the belt width (20 mm). The drive ratio is calculated by dividing the number of teeth of the driven pulley by the number of teeth of the driving pulley.
How can you recognise a worn pulley groove?
If the bottom of the groove is shiny, the belt has bottomed out and no longer wedges against the flanks - the pulley needs replacing. Profile gauges are used for checking.
