Product Description

Timing belt pulley 40 T10 z=22 aluminium - for T10 belts with a pitch of 10 mm. Made of hard-anodised aluminium 6082 T6.

The pilot bore allows the pulley to be bored precisely to the shaft size and the fit required by the machine, to H7 tolerance. The keyway is cut on a slotting machine according to DIN 6885.

Used in machines requiring accurate motion transmission: industrial automation, packaging machines, assembly lines.

When ordering, please check the lead time - it is shown directly next to the product's stock level.

FAQ

Does shaft runout damage pulleys?

Yes - shaft runout causes cyclic jerking of the belt, which leads to cracking of the pulley hub and accelerated belt wear. Before mounting the pulley, it is worth checking the shaft runout with a dial indicator.

What is a pilot bore and how is it rebored?

A pilot bore is a technological bore smaller than the target shaft diameter - a turner rebores it precisely to the specific shaft, to H7 tolerance. The keyway is cut on a slotting machine according to DIN 6885.

How do you align pulleys correctly?

The grooves of both pulleys must lie in one plane. Check this with a straightedge or a laser alignment tool. Even a slight lateral misalignment causes rapid wear of the belt's side edges.

How do you choose a pulley for a toothed belt?

The key is matching the series (T10 = 10 mm pitch) and the belt width (40 mm). The drive ratio is calculated by dividing the number of teeth of the driven pulley by the number of teeth of the driving pulley.
