Product Description

Spur gear module 5, z=90, plate wheel

This module 5 gear (90 teeth, plate wheel) is used wherever reliable, maintenance-free power transmission through involute meshing is required. Made of C45E steel (UNI/EN 10083-1), which ensures high mechanical strength and wear resistance during prolonged operation under load.

Frequently asked questions

How do you mount a module gear using clamping rings?

These rings are slid between the plain shaft and the plain bore of the gear. When the screws are tightened, the ring expands and locks the gear with a force many times greater than a traditional key. This is the ideal solution for module gears operating with changing direction of rotation (no backlash at the key).

How do you set the correct centre distance between two module gears?

The centre distance is the sum of the pitch diameters of both gears divided by two (a = (Dp1+Dp2)/2); too small a distance causes seizing, and too large a distance - excessive backlash and loss of quiet running.

In which applications do helical module gears perform well?

Helical teeth ensure smoother engagement, which drastically reduces noise and vibration at high rotational speeds. They are used in precision speed reducers and machine tools, bearing in mind, however, the need to use thrust bearings (absorbing axial forces).

Why is the pilot bore in a module gear often smaller than required?

A "rough" bore allows you to bore it out yourself to the exact, non-standard size of the customer's shaft - a ready-made large bore from stock would rarely match the required size perfectly.

Where is this product used?

It performs well in power transmission systems in machine tools, production lines and sliding gates, where it works together with a gear rack of the same module.

When placing your order, please check the current stock level of this gear - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in the given warehouse.
