Frequently asked questions
What does a pitch diameter of 60 mm mean?
The pitch diameter (60 mm) is the diameter on which the teeth of two mating gears roll on each other. It is used to design the centre distance of a transmission - the distance between the axes of two gears equals half the sum of their pitch diameters.
Is the gear material flammable?
The material has flammability class HB according to UL94 (for a thickness of 1.6 mm).
Is a 3D printed gear as good as a milled one?
A printed gear needs no tools or moulds, so it can be made quickly even as a single piece and in a non-standard configuration. The material is applied in layers, so it will not replace a steel gear in a heavily loaded transmission, but it works well under light and medium loads.
Can you make a larger series of gears?
Yes. We agree the production time for a series individually - write to us and tell us how many pieces you need.
Where can I ask about fitting a gear to my transmission?
Contact us by e-mail, via the contact form or by phone - we will help you choose a gear for your transmission.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this gear - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
