Where can this plastic gear be used?
A gear made of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic transmits drive in gear trains with light and medium loads, for example in applications such as:
- small domestic appliances
- robotics and grippers
- custom-built machines
- measuring instruments and apparatus
- low-power gearboxes and reducers
- auxiliary drives in agricultural and garden equipment
- packaging lines and machines
Questions and answers about the spur gear module 2
Which gear will this gear mesh with?
The gear meshes only with module gears of module 2 and a 20° pressure angle. The number of teeth of the mating gear determines the gear ratio.
How does the material behave under impact loads?
The Charpy impact strength of the material is 73 kJ/m2 for an unnotched specimen and 11 kJ/m2 for a notched specimen. The elongation at break is 5%, which means a stiff material that deforms very little.
When is it worth choosing a printed gear instead of a steel one?
When low weight, quiet operation and corrosion resistance matter and the transmission works under light or medium loads. A printed gear is also a good choice when you need a single piece, a non-standard size or a quick replacement.
What if I need a gear in a colour other than black?
As standard, we make our gears in black. If you need a different colour, write to us - we will check whether we can print the gear in the variant you want.
When will I receive the gear?
You can see the current stock level above the price - gears available from stock are shipped no later than the next working day. For larger quantities we agree the production time individually; it usually does not exceed a few working days.
The O3D - Ozdowski 3D Printing brand belongs to Ozdowski Group, a Polish manufacturer of drive components.
