Gear module 2.5, z=31, plate wheel - a robust component for building and repairing gear transmissions, gear reducers and rack drives (rack + gear). The gear is made of C45E steel (EN 10083-1); the involute tooth profile and 20° pressure angle ensure smooth, quiet meshing with gears or racks of the same module.

Are module gears from different manufacturers with the same module interchangeable?

The meshing geometry (module, pressure angle) is standardised, so such gears will mesh with each other, but bore or hub dimensions may differ between manufacturers - when replacing, it is worth checking this before installation.

Do you make module gears to special order?

Yes. In addition to ready-made gears from our warehouse, we can manufacture non-standard CNC gears based on your technical drawing. And if the machine is at a standstill and time matters to you, we will produce it using 3D printing from glass-fibre-reinforced materials.

What is profile shift and when is it used?

It is a slight shift of the tooth profile relative to the standard profile, used mainly with a very small number of teeth to avoid undercutting the tooth root; in typical stock applications it is not required.

How do you measure a worn tooth to choose the right replacement?

It is best to measure the outside diameter (Dz) and count the teeth (Z), and calculate the module from the formula m = Dz / (Z+2); it is also worth measuring the bore diameter so that the replacement fits the same shaft without additional machining.
