The module 2.5 gear shown, 100 teeth, plate wheel, is a basic element of module drives - it works with any other gear or gear rack (toothed rack) of the same module and pressure angle 20°. Made of C45E steel (UNI/EN 10083-1), which ensures high mechanical strength and wear resistance during prolonged operation under load.

How does the operating temperature affect the choice of material for a module gear?

At high temperatures, C45E steel retains its properties much better than plastics, which can soften and lose tooth profile accuracy; in such cases steel (including stainless steel if moisture or steam is also present) is the safer choice.

Does a higher number of teeth (z) with the same module mean a stronger gear?

Not directly - tooth strength depends mainly on the module and face width, not on the number of teeth; a larger z with the same module simply gives a larger gear diameter and a higher ratio relative to the mating gear.

Do you make module gears to special order?

Yes. In addition to ready-made gears from our warehouse, we can manufacture non-standard CNC gears based on your technical drawing. And if the machine is at a standstill and time matters to you, we will produce it using 3D printing from glass-fibre-reinforced materials.

What is backlash and why does it matter?
