Product Description
Module gear 60 teeth, module 1, with hub - 3D printed PA12-CF15 composite, O3D
The O3D spur gear module 1 with 60 teeth is a module gear with hub, 3D printed from PA12-CF15 composite, i.e. nylon (polyamide 12) reinforced with carbon fibre. It has an outer diameter of 62 mm and a O12 mm pilot bore that you can ream to the size of your shaft. A light and quiet gear for transmissions with light and medium loads.

Where can this plastic gear be used?
A gear made of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic transmits drive in gear trains with light and medium loads, for example in applications such as:
- electrically driven tools
- conveyors and transporters
- actuators and auxiliary drives
- equipment for the glass and ceramics industry
- packaging machines
- low-power gearboxes and reducers
- material handling systems in warehouses
Questions and answers about the spur gear module 1
What does the module of a gear mean?
The module defines the tooth size - the larger the module, the larger the teeth. The pitch diameter of a gear is the module multiplied by the number of teeth. Only gears with the same module can mesh with each other.
What does the PA12-CF15 symbol mean?
The gear is printed from PA12-CF15, i.e. polyamide 12 reinforced with chopped carbon fibre.
How does a printed gear differ from a milled one?
A printed gear needs no tools or moulds, so it can be made quickly even as a single piece and in a non-standard configuration. The material is applied in layers, so it will not replace a steel gear in a heavily loaded transmission, but it works well under light and medium loads.
What if I need a gear in a colour other than black?
As standard, we make our gears in black. If you need a different colour, write to us - we will check whether we can print the gear in the variant you want.
In what position is the gear printed?
We print the gears in a vertical orientation. The print orientation matters both for the quality of the gear and for the strength of the teeth, so we have chosen it with operation in a transmission in mind.
