Product Description
Spur gear module 1, z=58, with hub
The spur gear module 1 shown, 58 teeth, with hub, is a basic component of module drives - it meshes with any other gear or gear rack (toothed rack) of the same module and pressure angle 20°. The gear is made of C45E steel (EN 10083-1); the involute tooth profile and 20° pressure angle ensure smooth, quiet meshing with gears or racks of the same module.

Frequently asked questions
Do you make module gears to special order?
Yes. In addition to ready-made gears from our warehouse, we can manufacture non-standard CNC gears based on your technical drawing. And if the machine is at a standstill and time matters to you, we will produce it using 3D printing from glass-fibre-reinforced materials.
How does a module gear differ from a chain sprocket?
A module gear meshes directly with another gear or gear rack, while a sprocket works with a roller chain - they have a different tooth profile and are not interchangeable, even though they look similar from a distance.
How should gears be stored correctly before installation?
Preferably in a dry room, protected against moisture and dust, with a light layer of preservative oil on the teeth and bore - especially important for C45E carbon steel, which can start to corrode without protection.
What lubrication is optimal for open module (rack) gear drives?
For open systems (gear + gear rack), it is best to use thick greases with added graphite or copper, which adhere firmly to the teeth and are not flung off by centrifugal force. In very dusty applications, dry Teflon lubricants perform better.
Where is this product used?
Typical applications include conveyor drives, packaging machines, industrial automation and positioning systems using a gear and gear rack pair.
When placing your order, please check the current stock level of this gear - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in the given warehouse.
