Product Description

Spur gear module 1, z=120, plate wheel

Gear module 1, z=120, plate wheel - a robust component for building and repairing gear transmissions, gear reducers and rack drives (rack + gear). The gear is made of C45E steel (EN 10083-1); the involute tooth profile and 20° pressure angle ensure smooth, quiet meshing with gears or racks of the same module.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a gear with hub (PM) and a plate wheel (CM), and when should you choose which?

The hub extends the part axially and makes mounting on the shaft easier (more room for a key or a clamping ring), while the plate wheel is flat and lighter - it is chosen when the design already has its own bearing arrangement/mounting and the gear only has to transmit the meshing.

What is profile shift and when is it used?

It is a slight shift of the tooth profile relative to the standard profile, used mainly with a very small number of teeth to avoid undercutting the tooth root; in typical stock applications it is not required.

What does it mean when the gear "skips" teeth under load?

Most often it is a sign that the transmitted torque exceeds the tooth strength for the given module, or that the backlash is too large - in both cases continued operation leads to the teeth breaking off quickly.

Why is precise machining of module gears crucial for drive service life?

A precisely cut tooth involute guarantees that the gears roll on each other without micro-impacts or slippage. This reduces friction lowers the operating temperature and dramatically extends the service life of the entire gearbox.

Where is this product used?

Module gears of this type are used in speed reducers, machine gearboxes, CNC machine tools and in rack drives of sliding and entrance gates.

When placing your order, please check the current stock level of this gear - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in the given warehouse.
