Product Description
Sprocket 32B-1 z=9, with hub
Sprocket 32B-1 with hub, 9 teeth, simplex - a product matched to chain with a pitch of 50.8 mm (2"). The material is C45E carbon steel (EN 10083-1), and the teeth remain unhardened (without induction hardening) - in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606; this version is easier to machine over the entire depth of the sprocket.

Frequently asked questions
Can a sprocket be welded directly to the drive shaft?
Technically this is possible, but we strongly advise against such a solution. Welding overheats the material, damages nearby bearings, bends the shaft and prevents the worn sprocket from being easily replaced later. Always use mounting with a key or a clamping bush.
When does tooth wear (the "shark fin" profile) mean the sprocket must be replaced?
If the teeth resemble pointed, tilted shark fins, the sprocket must be replaced immediately. Operating on such a profile can damage even a brand-new chain within a dozen or so days.
How does rotational speed affect the selection of the minimum number of teeth of a sprocket in the system?
At higher rotational speeds, a larger minimum number of teeth on the smallest sprocket in the system is recommended to reduce chain vibration and impacts resulting from the so-called polygon effect. With very small sprockets (e.g. 9-11 teeth) and high speeds, wear and vibration levels increase significantly faster than with larger sprockets.
Can the hub of a sprocket have a different hardness from the toothed rim?
Yes, and in practice this is usually the case - in the version with induction-hardened teeth, only the toothed rim is hardened, while the hub remains soft so that it can be freely turned and a keyway can be cut in it. This solution combines tooth wear resistance with ease of machining the hub.
Where is this product used?
32B-1 sprockets operate in drives of construction machinery, goods lifts, aggregate conveyors and woodworking machines - wherever tooth durability under load matters.
