Product Description
Sprocket 28B-1 z=19, hardened hub
Sprocket 28B-1 with hardened hub, 19 teeth, simplex - a product matched to chain with a pitch of 44.45 mm (1 3/4"). Compliance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 guarantees full interchangeability with chain of the same pitch; C45E steel (EN 10083-1) and induction hardening of the teeth (45-55 HRC) provide high wear resistance while keeping the hub machinable.

Frequently asked questions
When should I choose a sprocket with hub and when a flat one (plate wheel)?
Flat sprockets (plate wheels) are most often used where they are mounted onto an existing flange or drum, or when there is extremely little space on the shaft. We choose a sprocket with hub when it must reliably transmit high torque directly from the shaft via a key - the hub provides a longer contact surface.
What is a technological bore in a sprocket and why is it left?
We manufacture sprockets with hub with a small, so-called pilot (preliminary) bore. We leave it deliberately so that the customer (or workshop) can bore it precisely to the exact shaft size of their machine.
How do I select a sprocket with bearing for a tensioning system?
An idler sprocket (with built-in bearing) is selected according to the pitch of the working chain and mounted on the slack side (not on the tight side). It is important that the bearing is protected against dust, especially in agricultural machinery.
How does uneven tooth wear affect machine vibration?
Worn teeth cause the so-called polygon effect - the chain drops off and climbs onto the teeth abruptly, which transmits vibrations to the shafts, destroys the bearings and leads to cracking of welds in the machine.
Where is this product used?
Applications include drives in the food industry, packaging machines, sorting lines and agricultural harvesting machines, where the sprocket operates seasonally but under full load.
