Product Description
Sprocket 24B-3 z=19, with hub
Triplex (three-strand) sprocket 24B-3 with hub, 19 teeth - designed for chain with a pitch of 1 1/2" (38.1 mm). Manufactured in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 from C45E structural steel (EN 10083-1), without tooth hardening - as a Polish manufacturer, Ozdowski supplies an economical version that is fully dimensionally interchangeable with the hardened variant of the same pitch.

Frequently asked questions
Can the hub of a sprocket have a different hardness from the toothed rim?
Yes, and in practice this is usually the case - in the version with induction-hardened teeth, only the toothed rim is hardened, while the hub remains soft so that it can be freely turned and a keyway can be cut in it. This solution combines tooth wear resistance with ease of machining the hub.
How do you calculate the pitch circle diameter of a sprocket?
The pitch circle diameter (Dp) is, in simplified terms, the line along which the chain rollers roll. It is calculated using the formula: pitch divided by sine (180° / number of teeth).
Does a sprocket with hub have a fixed mounting side, or can it be reversed?
The sprocket is usually symmetrical with respect to the plane of the rim, so the rim itself cannot be "reversed incorrectly" - but the hub is usually on only one side of the sprocket, which determines which way the sprocket must be mounted relative to other components on the shaft (e.g. bearings, other sprockets).
What is the relationship between the number of teeth of a sprocket and the rotational speed of the drive?
This is the basic principle of the transmission ratio. If there is a small sprocket on the motor (drive) and a large one on the machine, the machine will turn more slowly but gain proportionally greater torque (force).
Where is this product used?
24B-3 sprockets are used in industrial drive transmissions: conveyors, feeders, packaging machines and production lines where precise, repeatable torque transmission matters.
