Product Description
Sprocket 24B-1 z=25, hardened hub
Simplex sprocket 24B-1 with hardened hub, 25 teeth - designed for chain with a pitch of 1 1/2" (38.1 mm). Compliance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 guarantees full interchangeability with chain of the same pitch; C45E steel (EN 10083-1) and induction hardening of the teeth (45-55 HRC) provide high wear resistance while keeping the hub machinable.

Frequently asked questions
What causes premature wear of the side faces of the teeth?
This is most often the result of misalignment of the sprockets on the shafts (so-called lateral runout of the drive). The chain does not run straight, and its inner plates catch on the sides of the teeth, wearing them down to bare metal. The system must be realigned immediately.
When is it worth using a clamping bush (Taper Bush) for a sprocket?
Wherever fast assembly matters. A clamping bush eliminates the need for laborious boring of the hub and cutting of a keyway - you insert the sprocket, tighten the screws and the machine is back in operation within minutes.
What is the relationship between the number of teeth of a sprocket and the rotational speed of the drive?
This is the basic principle of the transmission ratio. If there is a small sprocket on the motor (drive) and a large one on the machine, the machine will turn more slowly but gain proportionally greater torque (force).
In what cases are multi-strand sprockets used?
They are used to drive multi-strand chains in heavily loaded machines where there is no room for a wider sprocket with a larger pitch. Several strands distribute the load evenly, preventing premature chain breakage.
Where is this product used?
24B-1 sprockets are used in industrial drive transmissions: conveyors, feeders, packaging machines and production lines where precise, repeatable torque transmission matters.
