Product Description
Sprocket 24B-1 z=11, hardened hub
The sprocket 24B-1 shown is a simplex sprocket with 11 teeth, made with a hardened hub, for chain with a pitch of 1 1/2" / 38.1 mm. Made in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606, from C45E steel (EN 10083-1), with teeth induction hardened to 45-55 HRC - as a Polish manufacturer, Ozdowski ensures that the hub remains soft and suitable for turning.

Frequently asked questions
Why are cast sprockets less precise than turned and milled ones?
Cheap castings have a rough tooth surface, hidden air bubbles and slight deformations. CNC-turned and milled sprockets mean a smooth working surface, perfect alignment and safety for the most expensive machines.
What causes premature wear of the side faces of the teeth?
This is most often the result of misalignment of the sprockets on the shafts (so-called lateral runout of the drive). The chain does not run straight, and its inner plates catch on the sides of the teeth, wearing them down to bare metal. The system must be realigned immediately.
What forces act on the key in a sprocket and how can it be prevented from shearing?
The key transmits the entire shearing torque between the shaft and the sprocket. Make sure it is made of suitable quenched and tempered steel, has an accurate fit in the keyway and that the machine is not subjected to extreme jerks without an overload clutch.
How do I bore the hole in a sprocket to fit a motor shaft?
A sprocket with a pilot bore should be clamped in a lathe (gripping the hub to avoid runout) and bored to the required diameter with an H7 tolerance. If the sprocket has hardened teeth, the hub is usually soft and easy to machine.
Where is this product used?
24B-1 sprockets are used in industrial drive transmissions: conveyors, feeders, packaging machines and production lines where precise, repeatable torque transmission matters.
