Product Description
Sprocket 12B-3 z=27, with hub
Sprocket 12B-3 (pitch 3/4" - 19.05 mm), triplex (three-strand), 27 teeth, with hub. The sprocket complies with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 and is made of C45E steel (EN 10083-1); the teeth are not hardened, which lowers the cost of the sprocket and makes it easier to machine (e.g. deep boring of the hub) throughout the entire volume of the material.

Frequently asked questions
When should I choose a sprocket with hub and when a flat one (plate wheel)?
Flat sprockets (plate wheels) are most often used where they are mounted onto an existing flange or drum, or when there is extremely little space on the shaft. We choose a sprocket with hub when it must reliably transmit high torque directly from the shaft via a key - the hub provides a longer contact surface.
What is the standard procedure for submitting a complaint about a sprocket?
It is advisable to contact customer service, providing the product code, order number, and a description and photos of the observed defect - this makes it possible to quickly assess whether the complaint is justified and to propose further steps.
How does rotational speed affect the selection of the minimum number of teeth of a sprocket in the system?
At higher rotational speeds, a larger minimum number of teeth on the smallest sprocket in the system is recommended to reduce chain vibration and impacts resulting from the so-called polygon effect. With very small sprockets (e.g. 9-11 teeth) and high speeds, wear and vibration levels increase significantly faster than with larger sprockets.
What does the marking "z=X" on a sprocket mean and why is it so important when ordering?
"z" is the number of teeth of the sprocket - together with the pitch and the number of chain strands, it unambiguously defines the sprocket geometry (pitch circle and outside diameter). Ordering a sprocket with the wrong "z" usually means that it will not work correctly with the second sprocket already in the machine, and a different transmission ratio than intended will result.
Where is this product used?
Typical applications of the 12B-3 sprocket: drives for pumps, mixers and industrial fans, as well as control systems for industrial gates and roller shutters, where resistance to continuous operation is required.
