Product Description
Sprocket 12B-3 z=10, with hub
Triplex (three-strand) sprocket 12B-3 with hub, 10 teeth - designed for chain with a pitch of 3/4" (19.05 mm). Manufactured in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 from C45E structural steel (EN 10083-1), without tooth hardening - as a Polish manufacturer, Ozdowski supplies an economical version that is fully dimensionally interchangeable with the hardened variant of the same pitch.

Frequently asked questions
Is it worth using guards on sprockets and the entire drive?
Yes - a guard protects operators from contact with moving parts and at the same time limits the ingress of dust and moisture to the chain, which genuinely extends its service life. In many industrial machines, a chain drive guard is also an occupational safety requirement.
How does the choice of the number of teeth affect vibration levels and drive operation?
A smaller number of teeth means fewer meshing points per revolution and larger fluctuations in the instantaneous chain speed (the so-called polygon effect), which results in higher vibration levels. Increasing the number of teeth of the sprocket (at the same pitch) smooths the operation of the drive, although it increases its overall dimensions.
How do you calculate the pitch circle diameter of a sprocket?
The pitch circle diameter (Dp) is, in simplified terms, the line along which the chain rollers roll. It is calculated using the formula: pitch divided by sine (180° / number of teeth).
How do I check the radial and axial runout of a sprocket after mounting it on the shaft?
A dial indicator on a magnetic stand is used for the measurement. Place the tip against the circumference of the sprocket or its side face, rotate the shaft and check the deviations. Excessive runout indicates faulty installation or a damaged shaft.
Where is this product used?
12B-3 sprockets operate in drives of construction machinery, goods lifts, aggregate conveyors and woodworking machines - wherever tooth durability under load matters.
