Product Description
Sprocket 12B-1 z=25, hardened hub
Simplex sprocket 12B-1 with hardened hub, 25 teeth - designed for chain with a pitch of 3/4" (19.05 mm). As a European manufacturer, Ozdowski supplies the sprocket in C45E steel (EN 10083-1), in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 - the teeth are induction hardened (45-55 HRC), while the hub remains soft and easy to machine.

Frequently asked questions
Can a sprocket be welded directly to the drive shaft?
Technically this is possible, but we strongly advise against such a solution. Welding overheats the material, damages nearby bearings, bends the shaft and prevents the worn sprocket from being easily replaced later. Always use mounting with a key or a clamping bush.
How do you cut a keyway in the hub of a sprocket?
We cut keyways precisely on slotting machines according to DIN 6885. If you do it yourself, maintain axial alignment and the correct width and depth of the keyway so that the key sits securely and is not sheared off.
What does the pitch of a sprocket mean and how can it be checked?
The pitch of a sprocket corresponds to the chain pitch - it is the theoretical distance between the centres of adjacent teeth on the pitch circle. The easiest way to check it is to place a section of matching chain on the sprocket - it should sit perfectly, without tension.
What is the set screw hole in the hub for?
The threaded hole in the hub is used to screw in a headless screw (a so-called grub screw). It secures the sprocket against axial displacement along the shaft during machine vibration.
Where is this product used?
Typical applications of the 12B-1 sprocket: drives for pumps, mixers and industrial fans, as well as control systems for industrial gates and roller shutters, where resistance to continuous operation is required.
