Product Description
Sprocket 10B-1 z=36, with hub
The sprocket 10B-1 shown is a simplex sprocket with 36 teeth, made with a hub, for chain with a pitch of 5/8" / 15.88 mm. The sprocket complies with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 and is made of C45E steel (EN 10083-1); the teeth are not hardened, which lowers the cost of the sprocket and makes it easier to machine (e.g. deep boring of the hub) throughout the entire volume of the material.

Frequently asked questions
How does uneven tooth wear affect machine vibration?
Worn teeth cause the so-called polygon effect - the chain drops off and climbs onto the teeth abruptly, which transmits vibrations to the shafts, destroys the bearings and leads to cracking of welds in the machine.
Can a sprocket with a technological bore be installed without additional machining?
No - the technological bore is deliberately too small to fit a typical shaft. It must be bored on a lathe to the required diameter and, if necessary, a keyway cut according to the requirements of the specific machine.
Will a sprocket from another manufacturer work properly with the chain I already have?
If the sprocket is made to the same standard (DIN 8187/ISO 606) and has the same pitch and number of strands, it should work properly with a chain of another brand - that is the purpose of standardisation in this industry. However, differences between manufacturers may concern, for example, hub dimensions or material, so these parameters are worth checking separately.
In what cases are multi-strand sprockets used?
They are used to drive multi-strand chains in heavily loaded machines where there is no room for a wider sprocket with a larger pitch. Several strands distribute the load evenly, preventing premature chain breakage.
Where is this product used?
This type of sprocket is used in drives of agricultural and industrial machinery, including screw and bucket conveyors, feed conveyors, packaging machines and internal transport systems.
