Product Description
Sprocket 085-1 (1/2") z=44 plate wheel, C45 steel is designed for 085-1 roller chain (European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606), single-strand (simplex), with a pitch of 12.7 mm (1/2"). It has 44 teeth and is made of C45 steel.
The plate wheel has a pilot bore of Ø16 mm. It can be bolted or welded to your own hub, flange or drum, which makes it a good choice for larger ratios and non-standard designs.

Applications
It works in small chain transmissions, feeders and traverse mechanisms where a compact design matters. Plate wheels are often mounted on drums and flanges and in large reduction gears.
Frequently asked questions
Which chain does the 085-1 z=44 sprocket fit?
085-1 roller chain to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 12.7 mm. A simplex sprocket requires a single-strand (simplex) chain.
What is the difference between the 085-1 sprocket and the 08B-1 sprocket if they have the same pitch?
Both sprockets have a pitch of 12.7 mm (1/2"), but they are designed for different chains. The 085-1 chain has an inner width of 6.4 mm and a roller diameter of 7.75 mm, while the 08B-1 chain has an inner width of 7.75 mm and a roller diameter of 8.51 mm. That is why the 085-1 sprocket has a narrower toothed rim (5.9 mm instead of 7.2 mm) and should not be used with 08B-1 chain, nor should these series be interchanged.
How is the pitch diameter of a sprocket calculated?
The pitch diameter Dp is the circle along which the chain rollers travel. It is calculated with the formula: pitch divided by the sine of (180° / number of teeth). For this sprocket it is 178.03 mm, and the outside diameter De is 183.5 mm.
When should I choose a plate wheel and when a sprocket with hub?
A plate wheel is chosen when the wheel is fixed to an existing flange, drum or your own hub, or when there is little space on the shaft. A sprocket with hub works better where torque is transmitted directly from the shaft via a key.
How does the number of teeth affect the drive ratio?
The ratio is the number of teeth of the driven wheel divided by the number of teeth of the driving wheel. If this sprocket drives a wheel with twice as many teeth, the driven shaft turns twice as slowly but with roughly twice the torque.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
