Product Description
Sprocket 083-1/084-1 (1/2") z=65 plate wheel, C45 steel works with 083-1/084-1 roller chain (European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606), single-strand (simplex), with a pitch of 12.7 mm (1/2"). It has 65 teeth and is made of C45 steel.
The plate wheel has a pilot bore of Ø20 mm. It can be bolted or welded to your own hub, flange or drum, which makes it a good choice for larger ratios and non-standard designs.

Frequently asked questions
Which chain does the 083-1/084-1 z=65 sprocket fit?
083-1/084-1 roller chain to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 12.7 mm. A simplex sprocket requires a single-strand (simplex) chain.
What is the difference between the 083-1/084-1 sprocket and the 08B-1 sprocket if they have the same pitch?
Both sprockets have a pitch of 12.7 mm (1/2"), but they are designed for different chains. The 083-1/084-1 chain has an inner width of 4.88 mm and a roller diameter of 7.75 mm, while the 08B-1 chain has an inner width of 7.75 mm and a roller diameter of 8.51 mm. That is why the 083-1/084-1 sprocket has a narrower toothed rim (4.5 mm instead of 7.2 mm) and should not be used with 08B-1 chain, nor should these series be interchanged.
How do I check the pitch of a sprocket?
The sprocket pitch matches the chain pitch - it is the distance between the centres of adjacent teeth measured on the pitch circle. The easiest way to check it is to place a section of matching chain on the sprocket: it should sit on the teeth without tension. This sprocket has a pitch of 12.7 mm (1/2").
How is the pitch diameter of a sprocket calculated?
The pitch diameter Dp is the circle along which the chain rollers travel. It is calculated with the formula: pitch divided by the sine of (180° / number of teeth). For this sprocket it is 262.86 mm, and the outside diameter De is 268.8 mm.
When should I choose a plate wheel and when a sprocket with hub?
A plate wheel is chosen when the wheel is fixed to an existing flange, drum or your own hub, or when there is little space on the shaft. A sprocket with hub works better where torque is transmitted directly from the shaft via a key.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
