Product Description
Sprocket 081-1 (1/2") z=80 plate wheel, C45 steel works with 081-1 roller chain (European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606), single-strand (simplex), with a pitch of 12.7 mm (1/2"). It has 80 teeth and is made of C45 steel.
The plate wheel has a pilot bore of Ø25 mm. It can be bolted or welded to your own hub, flange or drum, which makes it a good choice for larger ratios and non-standard designs.

Frequently asked questions
Which chain does the 081-1 z=80 sprocket fit?
081-1 roller chain to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 12.7 mm. A simplex sprocket requires a single-strand (simplex) chain.
What is the difference between the 081-1 sprocket and the 08B-1 sprocket if they have the same pitch?
Both sprockets have a pitch of 12.7 mm (1/2"), but they are designed for different chains. The 081-1 chain has an inner width of 3.3 mm and a roller diameter of 7.75 mm, while the 08B-1 chain has an inner width of 7.75 mm and a roller diameter of 8.51 mm. That is why the 081-1 sprocket has a narrower toothed rim (3 mm instead of 7.2 mm) and should not be used with 08B-1 chain, nor should these series be interchanged.
How does tooth wear affect machine operation?
Worn teeth make the chain engage the sprocket unevenly and abruptly. This causes vibrations that are passed on to shafts and bearings and accelerate wear of the whole drive.
How do I check the pitch of a sprocket?
The sprocket pitch matches the chain pitch - it is the distance between the centres of adjacent teeth measured on the pitch circle. The easiest way to check it is to place a section of matching chain on the sprocket: it should sit on the teeth without tension. This sprocket has a pitch of 12.7 mm (1/2").
How is the pitch diameter of a sprocket calculated?
The pitch diameter Dp is the circle along which the chain rollers travel. It is calculated with the formula: pitch divided by the sine of (180° / number of teeth). For this sprocket it is 323.48 mm, and the outside diameter De is 329.4 mm.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
