Product Description
Sprocket 06B-2 (3/8") z=78 plate wheel, C45 steel works with 06B-2 roller chain (European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606), double-strand (duplex), with a pitch of 9.525 mm (3/8"). It has 78 teeth and is made of C45 steel.
The plate wheel has a pilot bore of Ø20 mm. It can be bolted or welded to your own hub, flange or drum, which makes it a good choice for larger ratios and non-standard designs.

Applications
It works in small chain transmissions, feeders and traverse mechanisms where a compact design matters. The double-strand version carries higher loads than a single-strand one of the same pitch. Plate wheels are often mounted on drums and flanges and in large reduction gears.
Frequently asked questions
Which chain does the 06B-2 z=78 sprocket fit?
06B-2 roller chain to European standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606, with a pitch of 9.525 mm. A duplex sprocket requires a double-strand (duplex) chain.
Does it fit ASA 35 chain?
No. ASA 35 chain (American standard) has the same pitch, but a different roller diameter (5.08 mm instead of 6.35 mm) and a different inner width (4.77 mm instead of 5.72 mm). The 06B sprocket is designed for European-standard chain, so the two systems should not be mixed.
How does tooth wear affect machine operation?
Worn teeth make the chain engage the sprocket unevenly and abruptly. This causes vibrations that are passed on to shafts and bearings and accelerate wear of the whole drive.
When are multi-strand sprockets used?
Double- and triple-strand sprockets work with multi-strand chains in heavily loaded drives where there is no room for a chain with a larger pitch. Several strands share the load evenly, which reduces wear and the risk of chain breakage.
How do I check the pitch of a sprocket?
The sprocket pitch matches the chain pitch - it is the distance between the centres of adjacent teeth measured on the pitch circle. The easiest way to check it is to place a section of matching chain on the sprocket: it should sit on the teeth without tension. This sprocket has a pitch of 9.525 mm (3/8").
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this sprocket - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
