Product Description
Sprocket 06B-2 z=12, hardened hub
Duplex sprocket 06B-2 with hardened hub, 12 teeth - dedicated to a chain with a pitch of 3/8" (9.525 mm). As a European manufacturer, Ozdowski supplies the sprocket in C45E steel (EN 10083-1), in accordance with DIN 8187 / ISO 606 - the teeth are induction hardened (45-55 HRC), while the hub remains soft and easy to machine.

Frequently asked questions
How does material quality prevent the teeth from "shearing" during sudden machine jerks?
Soft, uncertified sheet metal deforms under a sudden jerk - the teeth bend over. Steel from a certified melt, correctly heat-treated, has a high yield strength and withstands a torque surge without permanent deformation.
How do I bore the hole in a sprocket to fit a motor shaft?
A sprocket with a pilot bore should be clamped in a lathe (gripping the hub to avoid runout) and bored to the required diameter with an H7 tolerance. If the sprocket has hardened teeth, the hub is usually soft and easy to machine.
When is it worth considering a sprocket made of reinforced steel for heavy-duty operating conditions?
In heavy dust, with powerful jolts (e.g. in presses) and where a breakdown in the middle of the season cannot be afforded, sprockets made of higher-strength quenched and tempered steel are often a good solution - it is worth consulting the supplier about unusual operating conditions.
Is a duplex sprocket the same as a tandem sprocket (for two single chains)?
No, even though they look very similar. A tandem sprocket is also a single, monolithic sprocket, but with a different (wider) spacing of the toothed rims - designed specifically for two independent simplex chains running in parallel. This duplex sprocket has a rim spacing matched to a single duplex chain, in which both strands are integrated with each other. Using a duplex sprocket for two single chains is a mistake - the spacing is too narrow and the chains will rub against each other, which leads to accelerated wear and, in extreme cases, to serious drive failure.
Where is this product used?
06B-2 sprockets operate in the drives of construction machinery, goods lifts, aggregate conveyors and woodworking machines - wherever tooth durability under heavy load matters.
