Product Description
Roller chain 12AH-1 (60H-1) L=1000
12AH-1, known in the ANSI system as number 60H, is a simplex roller chain with a pitch of 19.05 mm, used in drives designed to the American standard. Every unit in this series meets the requirements of the standard ANSI B29.1; production includes individual hardening of the pin, roller and plate, which we as a European manufacturer regard as the basis of durability. In Ozdowski chains, each component is hardened separately before being assembled into a finished link - which is why their actual strength exceeds the requirements of the standard by about 20%, meaning greater durability and resistance to breaking.

Frequently asked questions
How do you choose the correct ANSI roller chain pitch for a drive?
Three parameters determine the correct selection: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 12AH (ANSI 60H) they are 19.05 mm, 12.57 mm and 11.91 mm respectively. It is also worth considering the load, rotational speed and operating environment (dust, moisture) in order to choose the right version.
How does an AH (reinforced) chain differ from the standard version of the same pitch?
The AH version has the same pitch, inner width and roller diameter dimensions as the standard 12A (it works with the same sprockets), but uses thicker side plates - 3.2 mm compared with 2.4 mm in the standard version. As a result, the chain copes better with jerky loads and operation in more demanding conditions.
Can a section length other than the standard lengths listed be ordered?
Yes. As standard, we offer ready, convenient sections in lengths of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 metres, but the chain can also be ordered by the running metre, or several sections can be joined with a connecting link to obtain the required total length - remembering to keep an even number of links.
What does the number in the American chain designation mean, e.g. 40, 50 or 60?
In the ANSI system, the chain number has a dimensional meaning: the first digits indicate the pitch expressed in eighths of an inch (e.g. "50" = 5/8 inch = 15.875 mm), and the last digit indicates the series - "0" is a standard simplex roller chain. That is why the chain number immediately tells an experienced mechanic which pitch to look for.
Where is this product used?
The thicker side plates of this version are fitted in CLAAS combine harvesters (Dominator, Mega, Commandor) and in other agricultural machines operating under higher dynamic loads than a typical industrial drive.
