A supported shaft is a guide rod with a diameter of 10 mm, mounted on a support that is fixed to the base along its entire length. Made of steel Cf53 (1.1213), induction hardened to 60-64 HRC and ground to tolerance h6 (ISO).

Supported shafts are used with open linear bearings (with a slot for the support) with a diameter of fi=10 mm - closed bearings cannot pass the support mounting.

How does a supported shaft differ from a standard shaft?

A supported shaft is fixed to the base along its entire length, so it does not bend under load even over long spans. A standard shaft is fixed only at its ends.

Does this shaft need lubrication or maintenance?

The shaft itself needs no lubrication, but in a damp environment it is worth protecting the surface with anti-corrosion oil - steel Cf53 is not corrosion resistant.
