Frequently asked questions
Which chain does the connecting link 12B-1 fit?
The 12B-1 roller chain according to DIN 8187 / ISO 606, which has a pitch of 19.05 mm (3/4"), a roller of 12.07 mm and an inner width of 11.68 mm. If your chain has these dimensions, the matching product in the Ozdowski range is: straight link (connecting link) 12B-1, pitch 19.05 mm (3/4"), with attachment WA2, stainless steel.
How do I fit a connecting link?
Bring the chain ends together, insert the link pins into the bushes of the last inner links, fit the plate and secure it with a spring clip or a cotter pin. Fitting is easiest when the chain lies on the sprocket.
Does the 12B-1 chain fit ASA 60 sprockets?
No. The 12B chain (European standard) and the ASA 60 chain (American standard) have the same pitch but a different roller diameter and inner width. These systems should not be mixed.
Does a connecting link weaken the chain?
A correctly fitted connecting link works like the other links. Under heavy loads and vibrations, check the locking element (spring clip or cotter pin) during drive inspections.
Do stainless components need lubrication?
Yes. Stainless steel does not rust, but lubrication still reduces friction and wear of the joints. In food applications, use a lubricant approved for food contact.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this link - the lead time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may vary depending on the warehouse.
