Product Description
Roller chain 24B-2
Chain 24B-2 (duplex) is a proven solution for power transmission in mechanical systems, made with a pitch of 38.1 mm. The chain is manufactured in accordance with the standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606; each pin, roller and plate is individually hardened, which we as a European manufacturer consider key to durability. Thanks to hardening each component separately, even before the whole chain is assembled, Ozdowski products achieve a breaking strength about 20% higher than the minimum values specified by the standard.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the right roller chain for an industrial drive?
The key is to determine three parameters: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 24B these are 38.1 mm, 25.4 mm and 25.4 mm respectively. In addition, operating conditions should be taken into account: load, rotational speed and environment (dust, moisture), in order to select the right version.
What is a duplex chain and when is it used?
A duplex chain is a design consisting of two parallel rows of links connected by common pins. It is used where the space for sprockets is limited (a wider sprocket with a larger pitch cannot be used) and the drive must transmit a higher torque than in the simplex version.
Why does hardening each component (pin, roller, plate) before assembly increase chain service life?
Many low-cost suppliers harden the chain only after assembly, which causes uneven hardening and brittle links. Separate hardening of the pin, roller and plate provides uniform hardness and less wear during operation.
Why is it not advisable to break a chain with a hammer and punch?
Hammer blows generate uncontrolled forces that can damage the fit of the pin in the plate of the adjacent link, and a ricocheting punch can be dangerous and may damage the roller surface.
Where is this product used?
The 24B-2 chain is used in drives of belt and roller conveyors, agricultural machinery (e.g. combine harvesters and round balers), production lines and packaging equipment, where reliable torque transmission is required.
