Product Description
Roller chain 10A-2 (50-2)
The 10A-2 chain is a duplex American chain proven in maintenance, chain number 50, pitch 15.875 mm. Manufactured in accordance with the standard ANSI B29.1; as a European manufacturer, we guarantee dimensional compatibility with sprockets designed to the same standard. The Ozdowski brand hardens pins, rollers and plates individually, before the links are assembled into a complete chain - as a result, our chains are approx. 20% stronger than the standard requires and therefore more durable and robust when working under load.

Frequently asked questions
How do you choose the correct ANSI roller chain pitch for a drive?
Three parameters determine the correct selection: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 10A (ANSI 50) they are 15.875 mm, 9.4 mm and 10.16 mm respectively. It is also worth considering the load, rotational speed and operating environment (dust, moisture) in order to choose the right version.
What is the purpose of the duplex design in a roller chain?
A duplex chain consists of two parallel rows of links mounted on common pins. This design is chosen when the installation space does not allow a sprocket with a larger pitch and the drive has to transmit a higher torque than the simplex version.
How does the A series (ANSI) differ from the European B series (DIN/ISO) in the same "range" of pitch?
The two series have different proportions between pitch, roller diameter and inner width, as well as a different designation system (e.g. 08A versus 08B) - despite the similar pitch, components of the two series are not interchangeable and should not be mixed in one drive.
How does sprocket misalignment affect chain life?
Misaligned sprockets alternately "jerk" the chain sideways during operation. As a result, the inner surfaces of the plates wear and the pins are exposed to additional, damaging lateral forces.
Where is this product used?
It is used in pick-ups and bale ejectors of balers and in maize harvesters - wherever the chain operates in changing field conditions.
