Product Description
Roller chain 08B-2 stainless
This duplex roller chain 08B-2 is made of stainless steel and has a pitch of 12.7 mm. Manufactured in accordance with the standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606; as a Polish manufacturer, we guarantee dimensional compatibility with sprockets of the same standard, regardless of the material. The Ozdowski brand hardens pins, rollers and plates individually, before the links are assembled into a complete chain - as a result, our chains are approx. 20% stronger than the standard requires and therefore more durable and robust when working under load.

Frequently asked questions
How do I select a stainless 08B chain for a drive or conveyor?
Three parameters are key: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 08B they are 12.7 mm, 7.75 mm and 8.51 mm respectively. In addition, in a corrosive environment it is worth assessing whether standard stainless steel is sufficient or whether the acid-resistant 316L version is needed.
What grade of steel is the stainless chain in this version made of?
The standard stainless version is made of chromium-nickel steel (type 304) containing approx. 18% chromium and 8-10% nickel. It performs well in humid conditions and in the food and pharmaceutical industries, where carbon steel would corrode.
What is the purpose of the duplex design in a roller chain?
A duplex chain consists of two parallel rows of links mounted on common pins. It is chosen when the installation space does not allow a sprocket with a larger pitch and the drive must transmit a higher torque than with the simplex version.
Can a stainless chain be washed with high-pressure water and cleaning agents?
Yes, this is one of the main applications of this material - daily washing with hot water and alkaline or acidic agents is typical in the food industry. However, it is advisable to relubricate the chain after washing, as strong detergents remove the protective lubricant.
Where is this product used?
Used on conveyors and in packaging machines in food and pharmaceutical plants, as well as in rooms with high humidity where ease of cleaning is required.
