Roller chain 08B-1 is a simplex chain with a pitch of 12.7 mm, used as a basic drive element in mechanical engineering. Compliance with standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606 guarantees correct interaction with sprockets from other manufacturers; as a Polish manufacturer, we also focus on separate hardening of every link component. An upright SK-1 attachment is mounted on selected outer links - a plate set perpendicular to the chain, used for fastening flights or dividers for conveyed items. Thanks to hardening each component separately, even before the whole chain is assembled, Ozdowski products achieve a breaking strength about 20% higher than the minimum values specified by the standard.

What is the SK-1 attachment and what is it used for?

What is the difference between a bent and an upright attachment?

The bent attachment (designations without the letter S, e.g. A-1, K-1, WA-2, WK-2) has a plate bent into an L shape and fixed to the side of the chain, close to its axis. The upright attachment (with the letter S, e.g. SA-1, SK-1, WSA-2, WSK-2) has a plate mounted perpendicularly, projecting upwards from the chain. The choice depends on how the flight, divider or other element is fixed in the specific machine.

What should roller chains operating at high temperatures be lubricated with?

Standard grease will quickly run off or carbonise at high temperature. In such conditions, dedicated synthetic oils with added graphite or molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) perform better.
