Chain 08B-1 (simplex) is a proven solution for power transmission in mechanical systems, made with a pitch of 12.7 mm. Pins, rollers and plates are hardened separately before assembly - as a European manufacturer, we treat this as standard, so the chain retains its original dimensions for a long time and does not "stretch" under load. An upright SA-1 attachment is mounted on selected outer links - a plate set perpendicular to the chain, used for fastening flights or dividers for conveyed items. The Ozdowski brand hardens pins, rollers and plates individually, before the links are assembled into a complete chain - as a result, our chains are approx. 20% stronger than the standard requires and therefore more durable and robust when working under load.

What is the SA-1 attachment and what is it used for?

The SA-1 attachment is an upright attachment with one mounting hole, fitted perpendicular to the chain plate. It is mounted on selected links of the 08B chain to fix conveyed elements, flights, dividers or other working elements to the drive - the exact spacing of the attachments must be matched to the machine design.

What is the difference between a bent and an upright attachment?

The bent attachment (designations without the letter S, e.g. A-1, K-1, WA-2, WK-2) has a plate bent into an L shape and fixed to the side of the chain, close to its axis. The upright attachment (with the letter S, e.g. SA-1, SK-1, WSA-2, WSK-2) has a plate mounted perpendicularly, projecting upwards from the chain. The choice depends on how the flight, divider or other element is fixed in the specific machine.

How can you tell that a roller chain needs replacing?

The key sign is chain elongation exceeding approximately 2-3% of its original length. Other symptoms include cracked rollers, visible rust on the pins and uneven running on the sprockets.
