Product Description
Roller chain 08B-1 with A1 attachment
Roller chain 08B-1 is a simplex chain with a pitch of 12.7 mm, used as a basic drive element in mechanical engineering. The chain is manufactured in accordance with the standard DIN 8187 / ISO 606; each pin, roller and plate is individually hardened, which we as a European manufacturer consider key to durability. The chain is equipped with a bent type A-1 attachment (flight), fitted to selected outer links and used to mount conveyed or driving elements. Thanks to hardening each component separately, even before the whole chain is assembled, Ozdowski products achieve a breaking strength about 20% higher than the minimum values specified by the standard.

Frequently asked questions
How do I select the right roller chain with attachment for an industrial drive?
The key is to determine three parameters of the chain itself: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 08B these are 12.7 mm, 7.75 mm and 8.51 mm respectively. In addition, the type and spacing of the attachments must be matched to the machine design.
What is an A-1 attachment and what is it used for?
The A-1 attachment is a single-sided bent attachment with one mounting hole, offset to the side of the link. It is mounted on selected links of the 08B chain to fix conveyed elements, flights, dividers or other working elements to the drive - the exact spacing of the attachments must be matched to the machine design.
What is the difference between a bent and an upright attachment?
The bent attachment (designations without the letter S, e.g. A-1, K-1, WA-2, WK-2) has a plate bent into an L shape and fixed to the side of the chain, close to its axis. The upright attachment (with the letter S, e.g. SA-1, SK-1, WSA-2, WSK-2) has a plate mounted perpendicularly, projecting upwards from the chain. The choice depends on how the flight, divider or other element is fixed in the specific machine.
When should automatic tensioners be used, and when fixed chain guides?
Automatic (spring-loaded) tensioners work well in drives with variable loads and high speeds, whereas fixed plastic chain guides are most often used in drives with a stable, repetitive duty cycle.
Where is this product used?
Chain 08B with A-1 attachment is used in conveyors, feeders and transport lines, where a flight, partition or other working element mounted on the attachment pushes or lifts the conveyed goods. Typical applications include packaging lines, sorting machines and conveyors in the food industry and agricultural machinery.
