Product Description

Roller chain 04A-1 (25-1)

Simplex roller chain 04A-1 (ANSI 25, pitch 6.35 mm) is used as a replacement part in drives with inch dimensions. Compliance with standard ANSI B29.1 means full interchangeability with chains of this pitch from other suppliers working to the same standard; as a Polish manufacturer, we also rely on separate hardening of each component. Ozdowski brand chains offer strength up to 20% higher than the standard requires - each component (pin, roller, plate) is hardened individually before the chain is assembled, which translates into greater durability and resistance to elongation.

Frequently asked questions

How do you choose the correct ANSI roller chain pitch for a drive?

Three parameters determine the correct selection: pitch, inner width and roller diameter - for 04A (ANSI 25) they are 6.35 mm, 3.18 mm and 3.3 mm respectively. It is also worth considering the load, rotational speed and operating environment (dust, moisture) in order to choose the right version.

Does fitting a connecting link require special tools?

For normal fitting, pliers or flat-nose pliers are sufficient. When working directly on the machine, it is worth using a chain puller that holds both ends of the chain steady while the connecting link is fitted.

When is it better to use an automatic tensioner and when a fixed chain guide?

Spring tensioners perform well in drives with variable loads and higher speeds, whereas fixed plastic chain guides are suitable for a stable, repeatable duty cycle where the tension changes only slightly.

How does the A series (ANSI) differ from the European B series (DIN/ISO) in the same "range" of pitch?

The two series have different proportions between pitch, roller diameter and inner width, as well as a different designation system (e.g. 08A versus 08B) - despite the similar pitch, components of the two series are not interchangeable and should not be mixed in one drive.

Where is this product used?

Due to its small pitch, this chain is used in light conveyors, small agricultural and garden equipment, and electric vehicles (e.g. electric bicycles and scooters).
