Product Description
Locking bush NN, shaft 16 mm, hub 20 mm is used for a keyless connection of a shaft with a diameter of 16 mm to a hub with a bore of 20 mm, e.g. of a wheel, coupling or lever.
NN locking elements are pairs of tapered rings without their own screws: clamping is achieved by axial pressure, e.g. from a cover or a nut. The connection transmits torque and axial force without a key. The bush is not self-centring, so the hub must have its own guidance (fit) on the shaft. The NN series is designed for low to medium torque. It has small radial dimensions.

Frequently asked questions
How do I select a locking bush?
The inside diameter d must match the shaft diameter (16 mm) and the outside diameter D the hub bore (20 mm). The transmissible torque (for this bush 25.4 Nm) should be greater than the drive torque multiplied by the service factor: 1-1.2 for uniform load, 1.2-1.5 for intermittent load and 1.5-2 for alternating load (higher for combustion engines).
Do the shaft and hub need a keyway?
No. A locking bush transmits torque by friction only, so the shaft and hub are plain. The surfaces must be clean and degreased, and the shaft and bore machined to the tolerance recommended for this type of connection (usually h8/H8).
What does self-centring mean?
The bush does not centre the hub, so the hub should have a separate guiding surface (fit) on the shaft to ensure concentricity.
How do I remove a locking bush?
Remove the clamping element (cover or nut); the tapered rings release and can be slid off the shaft.
What does the lead time depend on?
When ordering, please check the current stock level of this product - the delivery time depends on it and is clearly stated according to the quantity available in each warehouse. The stock level is shown above the product price and may differ between warehouses.
