V-belt pulleys
V-belt pulleys transmit drive via V-belts: the belt wedges into the pulley groove and transmits torque through friction against its side walls. Such a drive runs quietly, dampens vibration and shocks, and in the event of a sudden overload the belt can slip, protecting the motor and machine. We have pulleys for all four narrow V-belt profiles, so you can put together a complete drive in one place.
Ozdowski V-belt pulleys - standard grooves and a choice of mounting
The pulley grooves comply with the standard, so belts of the same profile from any manufacturer run in them - you do not need to look for original parts when making a repair. You choose the mounting method yourself: a pilot bore pulley can be matched to any shaft, while bush-mounted pulleys are fitted and removed without machining, which shortens downtime when replacing the pulley or changing the ratio. Multi-groove pulleys let you transmit high power with several belts without increasing the diameter. Depending on the size and version, V-belt pulleys may be made of cast iron or steel.
Pulleys for SPZ, SPA, SPB and SPC V-belts to DIN 7753 / ISO 4184
All pulleys in this category are designed for narrow V-belts to DIN 7753 / ISO 4184. The profile determines the belt size: SPZ is the smallest, for light and compact drives, SPA and SPB cover medium and high-power drives, and SPC - the heaviest machinery. XPZ, XPA, XPB and XPC cogged belts with an identical cross-section run on the same pulleys. The pulley is always selected to match the belt profile, which is why each profile has a separate subgroup.
Mounting a V-belt pulley on the shaft: pilot bore, Taper-Lock or BK-RZ bush
Pilot bore - a pulley with a pilot bore that you bore out to the shaft diameter and add a keyway to. Taper-Lock - a pulley with a tapered seat for a taper bush, mounted on the shaft without machining. For BK-RZ bush - a pulley with a plain bore for a keyless locking bush, which holds it on the shaft by friction alone, without a key. Matching bushes can be found in the Bushes category.
Questions and answers: V-belt pulleys
How do I choose a pulley for a belt?
Read the belt designation - the letters indicate the profile (e.g. SPB) and the number its length. The pulley must have the same profile and as many grooves as there are belts in the drive. You choose the diameter according to the required ratio and the space in the machine.
Can a classical belt run on a narrow V-belt pulley?
Yes, classical Z, A, B and C belts fit the grooves of SPZ, SPA, SPB and SPC pulleys respectively. However, they transmit less power than a narrow V-belt, so for high loads it is better to choose an SP or XP belt.
Are the pulleys available from stock?
