You decide on the bore diameter and the fit yourself, so the pulley fits a shaft of non-standard diameter, inch shafts included, without additional bushes. A well-bored hole gives low runout, which extends belt life. Smaller pulleys are made of C45 steel, and larger ones of grey cast iron. This is often the cheapest way to seat a pulley when you do not plan to replace it frequently.
