Timing pulley bar stock consists of bars with teeth cut along their entire length for a timing belt. It serves as a semi-finished product: you cut timing pulleys of non-standard width, long drive rollers and special components that are not available among ready-made pulleys.

A bar gives you complete freedom - you decide the pulley width, bore and mounting method yourself, instead of searching for a ready-made pulley in a rare size. You can make several pulleys from one bar, which lowers the cost for small batches and prototypes. The teeth are already cut, so you do not need a hobbing machine - simply cut the bar, make the bore and, if needed, add flanges to guide the belt.
Bar stock for HTD, T, AT and imperial MXL, XL and L timing belts
Bars in metric profiles: HTD 3M, 5M and 8M with a rounded tooth, T (T2.5, T5, T10) with a trapezoidal tooth to DIN 7721 and AT (AT5, AT10) with a reinforced trapezoidal tooth. The imperial profiles MXL, XL and L are specified in ISO 5296. Each profile has its own subgroup.
Aluminium or steel timing bar stock - which material to choose
The material is given in the name of each bar. Aluminium is light and easy to machine, and the low mass of the pulley reduces the inertia of the drive. Steel copes better with high belt forces and wears more slowly - in the XL and L profiles you can choose either version, and the 8M bars are made of steel.
