Spur gears with hub are straight-tooth cylindrical gears with a 20° pressure angle and a single-sided extended hub. This is the most frequently chosen version of module gears: you can mount them directly on a motor or gearbox shaft or use them as the driving pinion for a gear rack.

What does hub height A mean in the technical data?

It is the total length of the gear along the axis, i.e. the face width of the gear rim together with the hub.

Can a hardened gear with hub be bored out?

Yes. Only the teeth are induction-hardened, and the bore area remains soft, so it is machined the same way as in an unhardened gear.
